New Technologies could help prevent skin cancer

Many young Australians are still getting sunburnt on a regular basis despite having good knowledge about sun protective behaviours.

Researchers from QUT Improving Health Outcomes for People, the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) and University of the Sunshine Coast are conducting the Skntec study to directly test the use of personal UVR devices and the impact they may have on people’s sun exposure.

The Skntec study is recruiting now and looking for participants 18-30 years old to attend the IHBI clinic at Kelvin Grove, Brisbane over the summer season (up to 7 visits).

During the study you will complete three questionnaires as well as record your sun exposure, sunburn and physical activity levels over time. Participants will be reimbursed $70 for completion of all study activities.
